Magna-Power Electronics Rapid Charges Fastest Electric Car in the World

Magna-Power Electronics, a world leader in high-power programmable dc power supplies, delivered a 75 kW MS Series III power supply used to charge the world’s fastest electric vehicle: the Ohio State Buckeye Bullet. The vehicle, powered by rapid-charge capable prismatic A123 batteries, set the world land-speed record for an electric car, averaging 307.7 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah last month.

Magna-Power Electronics Releases XR Series II with New 2U 8 kW Models

Magna-Power Electronics continues its commitment to power density with the release of the XR Series II. The new rack-mount series introduces 8 kW models at just 2U (3.25”) high, further extending the series lead as the highest power programmable dc supply available in a 2U package size. In addition, the company has incorporated variable speed, load dependent fans as a standard feature on the 6 kW and 8 kW models and low speed fans on the 2 kW and 4 kW models. The XR Series II, with 70 models available up to 1000 Vdc and 375 Adc, ranging from 2 kW to 8 kW, follows up on the immense success of the original XR Series introduced in 2009.
